<p>In her role as president of the Old Folks' Home, Eartha M.M. White writes a letter to the Metropolitan Insurance Company seeking payment for a decedent's final bills through a claim payoff on a life insurance policy held by a non-family member. <br /><br />White founded the Old Folks' Home in the early twentieth century and led the institution for many years. See, for example, this <a href="https://digitalcommons.unf.edu/eartha_images/15/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">undated postcard</a> on the UNF Digital Commons, which lists White as the institution's president. She continued to serve as president at the time of the writing of this unsigned letter, as demonstrated by <span>another <a href="https://digitalcommons.unf.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1022&context=eartha_materials" target="_blank" rel="noopener">letter dated July 11, 1929, </a></span><a href="https://digitalcommons.unf.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1022&context=eartha_materials" target="_blank" rel="noopener">from the vice president of the Florida East Coast Railway</a>, addressed to "Eartha M.M. White, President, Old Folks Home," also on the UNF Digital Commons.<br /><br /><br /></p>
